Description

Many gi brands offer one or more types of lightweight gis to help practitioners successfully make their weight class when competing. These gis are often made from lighter fabrics, and have colors and patches which are IBJJF-legal. As a general rule of thumb, lightweight gis tend to not last as long as heavier gis, so it’s generally advised to avoid wearing them during regular training sessions. Fabric: As mentioned before, the majority of Gis are made from either 100% cotton or a blend of cotton, although some premium Gis come with hemp or also bamboo fabric. If you are unsure if the Hayabusa Ultra-Lightweight Gi ought to be included in your wardrobe, consider these factors. Hayabusa Ultra-Lightweight Gi: Features and Benefits

The general rule of thumb is that you should have a clean and dry gi for every training session. If your training days are consecutive e.g you train in the gi on both Monday and Tuesday nights, you should consider getting a second gi. This helps you avoid situations where your gi might not be dry enough for the second training session. Now we have got that out the way, time to discuss what’s better. And the answer is it’s completely up to you. I started off training No-Gi, it’s easier to get into, cheaper as you don’t need to splash out on an expensive Gi and feels more natural for most people and a Gi can be restricting. I eventually moved onto Gi and I’ve been training it ever since. The Gi allows you to perform more moves. You can grab onto it and even use it to tap your opponent. A gi shouldn’t be too tight or too loose for comfort and movement reasons. You should be able to move and stand up freely without your gi being too restrictive. Also note there are IBJJF uniform rules which require a minimum of 7cm space (2.75 inches) for sleeve openings.Hayabusa is known for producing items of the highest quality. Whether it’s a BJJ belt or a boxing glove, they ensure perfection in every area, including function, comfort, and aesthetics. As versatile as Gis can get, none offer as much as the Elite Ultra Light. While it is IBJJF legal, as its name suggests, it does come in versions that are not allowed at tournaments. The colors on offer, despite the regular three, are grey, navy, and pink. A1 to A5 sizes are available for each color variant. Extremely cool design and a great fit for both male and female grapplers. This Gi feels as light as a rashguard when you’re wearing it. It features anti-odor and antimicrobial properties and doesn’t allow a buildup of sweat. Virtually indestructible and 100% pre-shrunk. Comes with a free BJJ belt.

Weaving refers to how the yarns in a fabric are interlaced together. Different weaves have different looks, strengths and weaknesses. A weave is made up of yarns that interlace at right angles to each other. The vertical yarns are called warp yarns, and the horizontal yarns are called weft yarns. Be preshrunk. Before being made into a Gi, the Gi fabric is shrunk. This minimizes, not completely removes, any shrinking that would happen after it went through some regular wash cycles. Kingz Kimonos is based in San Diego, California, and was founded in 2011. It sells a complete range of BJJ gis and BJJ accessories. The result, the Pro Ultra-Lightweight Hayabusa Gi. Incredibly light, yet as tough as any heavyweight Gi you’ve ever owned. It is one of the simplest yet best looking Gi’s you will ever come across and it complies with all of the Internation Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federations rules and laws. When you put this on you will immediately feel how it is different from any other competition Gi you’ve tried before. If you’re searching for a low-cost, lightweight BJJ gi that can withstand competition intensity, this isn’t the one. Because it is not particularly robust and can’t handle the energy of a competition, it is not ideal for competition. A more premium BJJ Gi is the finest type of gi for competitions. If you train in hot weather or only twice a week or less, a low-cost lightweight gi will work well for you. Premium Lightweight GisThe Goorudo 3.0 is one of our most popular Jiu-Jitsu Gis and we actually had to bring this range out of retirement due to popular demand. The predecessor to the Warrior is now available once again and this time it’s staying around. As it is made from gold weave blend, it is one of the heaviest BJJ Gis we make, constructed with a 550 gsm cotton. Lightweight Gi Options Cotton is easily available, comfortable, breathable, and durable which make it perfect to be used in a BJJ gi. Cotton fibres are also slightly stronger wet than they are dry, which is also an advantage for the average sweaty BJJ gym. Ripstop The exact answer depends on how often you train in the gi each week, what days your gi classes are on, and how often you want to compete. Its current flagship gi is the RIFT. The RIFT is an ultra-premium, complete ground-up reimagining of the traditional BJJ gi. It features innovations in the yarn, fabric weave and more. Hayabusa
